What to do next
Plan to keep doing resistance training at least 2 days a week after you stop. This is the single biggest thing you can do to protect your metabolism during the year after treatment.
This is an educational estimate based on published research. Always talk to your doctor before stopping or changing your medication.
Where this comes from
A study that followed people after they stopped taking semaglutide found that they regained about two thirds of the weight they had lost within a year. Most of the health improvements they had gained faded too. That study is the starting point for this calculator.
Regain isn't random. People who keep up resistance training and protein intake after stopping tend to hold onto more of their results. People who stop both at once, on top of their appetite coming back, tend to regain faster. This calculator adjusts its estimate based on your own plan.
This is an educational estimate, not a prediction of what will definitely happen to you. Your own results depend on your body, your habits, and your medical history. Talk to your prescriber about your specific plan for stopping or tapering.
